Gorton's Review and Giveaway

Home

I love being a Gorton's blogger. I was recently sent some free coupons so I could get some of their products to try.

I am from the east coast and I LOVE seafood. I grew up eating all types of seafood including fish, shrimp, scallops, crabs and more. I moved to the Midwest about 9 years ago when we got married and seafood isn't quite a staple out here. My new family (husband and 2 bonus kids) were not big seafood eaters. The kids didn't like any kinds of seafood. They were a meat and potatoes family. Slowly, but surely we introduced different kinds of seafood and eventually they stated to like a lot of different types of seafood, but not fish. They would tolerate fish nights, but it was definitely not a favorite.

Imagine our surprise when we found Gorton's Potato Crunch Fish Fillets. It sounded like a perfect idea for my meat and potatoes family. (I wish I had pictures, but everyone was so hungry that we ate before I got pictures.)

We tried Gorton's Potato Crunch Fish Fillets and the kids loved it!! They each ate 3 fillets a piece (except for the little one who ate 2)! Hubby also likes them and doesn't give me a hard time on fish night. We have found that some of us like them even better with seafood sauce. The little of course still likes her ketchup.

If you want to make yourself some spicier seafood sauce, mix some fresh horseradish with ketchup, but start with a little bit, because fresh horseradish is potent! You can find fresh horseradish in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. This recipe is great for shrimp too.

Now, I have to be honest, we have tried several other Gorton's products, but Potato Crunch is their number one choice.

A second place finisher is the Lemon Pepper Grilled Fillets. I personally like to mix it up a little bit and serve these once in a while for something different. I prefer grilled fillets and most of the time I forego the grilled for their favorite, but sometimes I just have to go with grilled and they tolerate my choice, haha!

Every once in a while I still buy original fish sticks. How can you go wrong with these?

My little one likes to stack her fish sticks like the ones in this picture for the Stick Stackers recipe from Gorton's recipe page. If you want to see lots more Gorton's recipes and get some inspiration for dinner, go here.
